About us
Welcome to the Waikato Aquarium Society
The Waikato Aquarium Society is an FNZAS (Federation of New Zealand Aquatic Societies) affiliated club for fish keepers in Waikato, New Zealand.
We are a friendly group of people of all ages that enjoy fish keeping.
We have a meeting on the first Thursday of each month at 7pm. Take a look on the facebook events page to see what’s coming up!
We try to keep things interesting with guest speakers, often have a sales table, and the club has a huge library if you need to read up on anything.
Here are our previous elected committee members

Club meetings, events, and fun
We have regular social events for current financial members, and visits to members homes to view their aquariums and ponds. We have trophies to be won for best Aquariums in several categories, and other annual awards. We also try to run a couple of big events each year such as the Aquatic Expo we held in Hamilton and club trips to places of interest like the National Aquarium and events with clubs from other areas.
The first Thrusday of every month
Benefits of joining the club
Financial members of the club receive a club card, which can be used to get discounts at local stores, and also get a membership card for the FNZAS which covers stores across New Zealand.

This affiliation gives us access to many great resources, gives us a voice and networking on a national level with other clubs, and representation at an official level to MPI who manage policy around fishkeeping and importing.
We’re a social bunch
Our Facebook page has become a brilliant community with very active buying and selling, but if you would like to support the club and join in our “real world” events sign up and become a financial member!
